Starting the Common Application
So far, this guide has focused on what looks good on a college application and steps you need to take in order to enhance your application. It is now time to look at the application itself. Most colleges accept the Common Application but some schools, like MIT and Georgetown University, have their own application. Be sure to check whether all of your colleges accept the Common App.
Why Start Early?
1. Less stress during your senior year: Getting the personal information portion of the Common Application done before senior year leaves more time for you to work on the more important aspects of the application like the writing supplements.
2. It's simple: Filling out the personal information on the Common Application does not take long and is simple. It does not require you to input anything substantial that will affect your admission status.
