Extracurricular Activities
Quotes to Consider:
"Remember: elite colleges are not asking you to be "well-rounded." They are looking to build well-rounded classes around a pool of world-class specialists."
-Dr. Kat Cohen, former Yale University Application Reader
"It's better to be steadily involved in 3 or 4 clubs you really love and enjoy than 6-8 clubs where you have minimal involvement and little interest. Do what you love! Explore new things, but don't overcommit yourself."
-Ms. Olivia Mascaro, Admissions Officer at Clarkson University
Other Tips when Choosing:
- Choose activities that you like: Don't just get involved to pad your application
- Be sure to not spread yourself too thin: An academic schedule can be packed. Adding on an abundance of other commitments can wear you down. Thus, be sure to choose your extracurricular activities accordingly in order to not only manage time effectively but also so you can make the biggest impact on your community.
